Exclusive Interview with Oliver Huntemann for Skopjeclubbing!!!

SC: So, the people who are into electronic music scene know who is Oliver Huntemann, but we would like to know if there is something that you have not mentioned so far, maybe some other hobby?
Of course, I do have hobbies. What I really like is to go sailing on the Baltic Sea. I own a boat which is big enough to stay there for few days. Sometimes it's a good thing to escape from everything, to be just in nature. I love wind and water and the opportunity to catch a fish for dinner.

SC: Is it a pleasure that the people recognize your sound, because we can admit that it is very specific?
Sure, that's a big pleasure. Especially because I don't have a big plan behind everything, it just comes out. If people recognize tracks as mine, it's fantastic. It seems I have a signature in my music but that was not my intention. Great to have it.

SC: Its your first time in Macedonia, have you heard something about our country and scene? Maybe some advice ? :)
To be honest I don't know much about your country but I'm sure after the gig it'll be better. What I've heard is that the electronic music scene and the parties must be outstanding. Never heard something bad, always about good vibes and fantastic nights.

SC: Your project with Stephan Bodzin , Rekorder had very successful releases during the past 4 years, do you work on something new in 2009?
Stephan and I don't work anymore together for more than two years now. We finished our Rekorder project and now each of us is doing different stuff. We were working together since more than 15 years and there was a point when we both needed new challenges. We are still good friends though and play some back2back dj sets but that's it. I keep the focus on my collaboration with Dubfire and my new studio partner and co-producer André Winter.

SC: Your third album was released a month ago, how is the reaction from the audience?
The reaction of the audience is super strong. I play all tracks from the H-3 album since end of last year in my set to test them and they work pretty well. I'm so happy with the result, I can't describe. Even most of the DJs pick lots of the tracks to play it out.

SC: Are you satisfied with what you have achieved so far?
Yes, I am! What else should I say? I have the best job in the world.

SC: Is it hard to be label owner, dj and producer at the same time ? Do you sometimes need more space for some other things?
That's the other side of the coin. Most of my friends at home have mainly time at the weekend, when I have to travel to my gigs. I try to meet them during the week but it's difficult because I need some time for myself and my girl too. Same with my family, I definitely do not see them enough but that's part of the job.

SC: Rekorder, H-Man, and many other aliases, do you have a favorite one ?
At the moment I feel a bit tired of all these projects. Rekorder is finished and I don't know if I'd like to restart H-Man. I have so many ideas for my own that I don't think much about other projects yet.

SC:  You are collaborating with many other famous artists, do you have someone in whose music you really enjoy?
I always like the music of the artists I work with. Couldn't work with them if I'm not into their style and vibe.

SC:  And what about your own favorite track in all time?
That's Planet Rock by Afrika Bamabaataa and the Soulsonic Force... It must be from 1982. It is inspired by Kraftwerk's Autobahn but has more funkyness to it. That's the track that hooked me up to electronic music.

skopjeslubbing.com.mk is thankful for the interview and We hope that we will have great party in Tetovo/Macedonia!
