What better release to start a new label with than an EP of songs that were favourites of the online community for a couple of years, included in a cool film and never officially released before. "Monkey Face" and "Fresh Paint" were composed for the dark short feature film "Cherie" directed by Jason Wen. Both songs complemented the atmosphere of the film and brought additional depth and mistery to the scenes in which they were used.

ABOUT THE TUNES
"Monkey Face" digs deep into dub influenced spaces, combining half-speed breaks with electro bleeps and droned atmospheres. Well known for his filmic sound, Tripnotic exceeded everyone's expectations by finding a new twisted approach and creating a dub-electronica meltdown through subtle interventions.
"Fresh Paint" adds further to the original approach on this EP. It is based on a moody acoustic bass line that opens a way for production trickery of all kinds. Reverberated loops, echoing vocals and an unusual blend of warmth and creepiness, it is all there, inside this strange monster of a tune.
British producer Adrian Lendon known to the music world as Litlle Birds decided to make "Fresh Paint" more accessible to the head-nodding crowd. He kept the main elements of the song, added some groovy beats, pizzicato strings and lush pads and put it all in his production blender. The result is masterfully made instrumental hip-hop for fans of the Grand Central and Ninja Tune sound.
